Maryland Head Coach Brenda Frese

Opening statement:
"It was tremendous to see the 40 minute effort we gave tonight. Our defensive intensity was there. I loved the unselfishness on the offensive end. We came out of this game with a lot of positives, which should give us confidence going into ACC play on Wednesday."

On the game:
"I wanted to see us improve on the defensive end tonight and take care of the basketball. I thought we did a much better job of that [than against UNC Greensboro on Friday night]. I like the direction we're headed."

On Sa'de Wiley-Gatewood:
"Sa'de [Wiley-Gatewood] brings so much to the table with her game, including the way she defends, her unselfishness, and obviously the way she shoots the ball. From the floor she was 100 percent. She understands the game. When you're 15-0 you're not going to tinker with a lot of things. The great thing about Sa'de is that she understands the team concept. Off the bench she is playing as many minutes as our starters. She's a winner and wants to be able to help this team in any facet."

Maryland forward Marissa Coleman

On Sa'de Wiley-Gatewood:
"All of us couldn't wait until Sa'de stepped on the floor because we've been practicing with her since she transferred here last year. She brings so much energy to the team. When Sa'de comes in, you see a whole new style of play. We run a lot more. The addition of her is just going to make us more deadly."

On Maryland's three-point shooting:
"I've never been part of a team that shoots the ball so well. You can't leave any of our guards open behind the three-point line because they will knock it down. Then if you jump out on us, we can all drive the basket."

Maryland guard Sa'de Wiley-Gatewood

On assists:
"I love passing and giving my teammates the ball. I love to score, but I also like to pass the ball and watch my teammates score. I take pride in assists."

Marist Head Coach Brian Giorgis

On Maryland:
"Not only do they have a lot of depth, but they are extremely skilled. I've been doing this for five years and I have never seen a team shoot like that and have so many different weapons. They pass so well and they can all hit threes. You can't even sag off one person, and the thing is that they find the open person. It's fun to watch; you kind of sit there in awe and wonder if they can miss. Their X's are quite a lot bigger, better, and more talented than our O's, it's just that simple."

On finding a weakness in Maryland's game:
"We've been ranked in scoring defense for the last couple years and we were ranked fairly high this year, and you know coming in that you have to find a weakness that you can exploit; but if you can find one, please mail it to me, because they are skilled."

On Maryland's unselfish play:
"I've never seen a team of so many skilled players who are as unselfish as they are. It just amazes me, you figure some egos would step in somewhere and they would start to get into some one-on-one action, but they continue to hit the open person. When you take your kid who has the fewest minutes and she has 31 assists on the year, that really says something."

On Maryland guard Sa'de Wiley-Gatewood:
"She just gives them another starter, you aren't bringing in a kid off the bench and having play go down a bit, you may actually be getting better. I mean she only missed a free throw tonight, so at least it's nice to know that she's human."
