#1/1 Maryland 93, Siena 54
December 4, 2006
College Park, Md.
Maryland extends its win streak to 10 games this season and 16 dating back to March 19th, the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It is the nation's longest win streak.
Sophomore Marissa Coleman, this week's ACC Player of the Week, registered her third double-double of the season (19 points, 12 assists), one game after posting the program's first-ever triple-double. Her 12 assists are a career high. The 19 points tied a season-high.
Five Terps scored in double figures. Besides Coleman, sophomore Kristi Toliver contributed 14, junior Crystal Langhorne knocked down 13, junior Ashleigh Newman registered 11, and sophomore Christie Marrone scored 10.
Langhorne's 13 points give her 1,354 on her career, moving her into 13th place on the Maryland all-time scoring list. She passed Stephanie Cross' 1,349 (1995-98) and Tara Heiss' 1,350 (1975-78).
Langhorne also hit 3 of 4 free throws on the night, giving her exactly 300 on her career. She is the fourth Terp to reach the 300 free throw plateau.
Senior Shay Doron took 3 steals, giving her 189 on her career. That moves her into 11th place on the Maryland all-time steals list, passing Stephanie Cross' 188.
Junior Laura Harper pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds.
All nine Terps dented the scoreboard in the 39-point victory.
For the second straight game, the Terps held their opponent under 20 rebounds. The Saints pulled down just 16, the fewest by any Terp opponent this season.
Maryland dished out 26 assists, the fourth time that they have topped 25 assists this season.
The Terrapins held the Saints without a free throw on the night. They finished 0-3 from the line.
