Athletics Events During Maryland Day
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The University of Maryland football team will close its 2008 spring season on Saturday, April 26 with the annual Red-White game at Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium. The contest is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and admission is free.
The spring game will pit the Red team vs. the White team under a normal game format with four 12-minute quarters. There is also a third team - the Black squad - which features offensive linemen and specialists who are eligible to play for the either Red or White squad.
There will be a number of activities surrounding the football game, which is the conclusion to Maryland Day 2008, the 10th annual campus-wide event for families, alumni and current students.
Fans will have an opportunity to interact with the Terp football players earlier in the afternoon. The team will be available from 12:30-1:30 p.m. for an autograph session on the concourse on the north side of the stadium.
Free t-shirts will be given out to the first 2,000 fans through the gates, which open at noon.
There are some options for fans not able to attend the game.
The game will be broadcast on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network with Tim Strachan (play-by-play) and Jonathan Claiborne (color) on the call.
The radio broadcast can be heard live on WHFS (105.7 FM) in Baltimore or over the internet through Maryland All-Access.
The game will also be video streamed live over the internet through Maryland All-Access.
