The Terps improve to 4-0 at home this season and has won 40 consecutive home games, extending the school record.

The Terps opened the game with a large run. At 11:21 in the first half, Maryland led 25-3. Before Samford's free throw at 12:46, the Terps held the Bulldogs to two points for over seven minutes.
Maryland has had three or more players post double-figure points in four games. The Terps are 4-0 when at least three players score 10 or more points. Dara Taylor and Lori Bjork (11), Lynetta Kizer (20) and Tianna Hawkins (14) led the Terps in double figures.
The Terrapins overpowered Samford on the boards grabbing 37 rebounds to the Bulldogs' 34. Maryland has out-rebounded their opponent in all games except one (at Mississippi State, 42-41).
The 43 points scored by the Terps in the first half is a season-high of points scored in the first half.

Individual Game Notes
Sophomore center Lynetta Kizer has scored in double-digits four times this season including a career-high performance against North Carolina Central with 23 points. In Tuesday's win, she was 8-8 from the field. She made her only three-point field goal attempt.
Kizer leads the Terps in free-throw percentage, making 11-of-14 (.786).
Freshman forward Tianna Hawkins was the Terps' leading scorer off the bench with 14 points. Tonight marks the third time she's scored in double-digits this season. She added one block and one steal in tonight's performance.
Freshman guard Dara Taylor earned her first start against Mississippi State. She dished a game-high tying seven assists (Anjalé Barrett also had seven).
Senior guard Lori Bjork scored a new season-high 11 points in six minutes. She was 3-of-5 from outside the arc.
Freshman Essence Townsend led the team in rebounds with seven, all defensive, in her 16 minutes on the court.
