Team Records and Series Notes


• Maryland improves their record to 4-1 while Samford falls to 3-1.
• The Terps improve to 4-0 at home this season and has won 40 consecutive home games, extending the school record.
• Head coach Brenda Frese is 31-20 coming off losses in her career at Maryland.
• This was the first-ever meeting between Maryland and Samford.

Team Game Notes
• Line-up: Anjalé Barrett, Lynetta Kizer, Dara Taylor, Lori Bjork, Diandra Tchatchouang. This starting lineup is 1-1 on the season.
• The Terps opened the game with a large run. At 11:21 in the first half, Maryland led 25-3. Before Samford's free throw at 12:46, the Terps held the Bulldogs to two points for over seven minutes.
• Maryland has had three or more players post double-figure points in four games. The Terps are 4-0 when at least three players score 10 or more points. Dara Taylor and Lori Bjork (11), Lynetta Kizer (20) and Tianna Hawkins (14) led the Terps in double figures.
• The Terrapins overpowered Samford on the boards grabbing 37 rebounds to the Bulldogs' 34. Maryland has out-rebounded their opponent in all games except one (at Mississippi State, 42-41).
• The 43 points scored by the Terps in the first half is a season-high of points scored in the first half.
• All but one Terrapin scored at least two points.
• Samford was Maryland's third opponent this season held under 50 points: North Carolina Central (39), New Hampshire (43).
• Maryland had a season-low nine turnovers in tonight's game.

Individual Game Notes
• Sophomore center Lynetta Kizer has scored in double-digits four times this season including a career-high performance against North Carolina Central with 23 points. In Tuesday's win, she was 8-8 from the field. She made her only three-point field goal attempt.
• Kizer leads the Terps in free-throw percentage, making 11-of-14 (.786).
• Freshman forward Tianna Hawkins was the Terps' leading scorer off the bench with 14 points. Tonight marks the third time she's scored in double-digits this season. She added one block and one steal in tonight's performance.
• Freshman guard Dara Taylor earned her first start against Mississippi State. She dished a game-high tying seven assists (Anjalé Barrett also had seven).
• Senior guard Lori Bjork scored a new season-high 11 points in six minutes. She was 3-of-5 from outside the arc.
• Freshman Essence Townsend led the team in rebounds with seven, all defensive, in her 16 minutes on the court.
