Team Records and Series Notes
• Maryland falls to 14-5 and 2-3 in the conference, while Miami improves to 14-4 overall and 2-2 in the ACC.
• The Terps are 12-1 in home games this season and coming into tonight’s game won 48 straight stretching all the way back to 2007. Prior to tonight’s loss, the last time they lost a home game was Feb. 18, 2007 against Duke.
• The Terrapins have not lost to the Hurricanes since 2002 and are now 8-2 all-time in the series. Their last win over the Hurricanes was March 1, 2009 with a score of 89-64.
• Head coach Brenda Frese is closing in on her 200th career win. After Thursday’s game, she currently stands at 190-65 (.745).
• Maryland will play host to No. 6/7 Duke Sunday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live on Fox Sport Net. The game is the Terps’ annual Pack the House night, Biggest Group Contest, Dad and Daughter Night, Camper Night and High School Night.
Team Game Notes
• Line-up: Dara Taylor, Lynetta Kizer, Kim Rodgers, Lori Bjork, Diandra Tchatchouang. This lineup last started against American on Dec. 20 and is 1-1.
• Key run: After falling behind 27-12, with 7:19 left in the first half, freshman Diandra Tchatchouang hit her first three since the St. Joseph’s game on Jan. 3 to spark a 20-4 run to close the half. The Terps went into the break with a 32-31 lead.
• Five Terrapins, Lynetta Kizer, Tianna Hawkins, Lori Bjork, Anjale Barrett and Diandra Tchatchouang, scored in double-figure points. This is the first time Maryland has registered five players in double-digits. The Terrapins are now 8-1 when four or more players score in double figures.
• Maryland outrebounded the Hurricanes 46-33. The Terps have held the rebounding advantage in all but three games this season.
Individual Game Notes
• Sophomore Lynetta Kizer posted her 14th career double-double and fifth on the year. She grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field. She was also 4-for-6 from the foul line.
• Senior Lori Bjork was the Terps’ leading scorer with 17 points in the win with her four three’s and 5-for-12 shooting from the field. Tonight was her eighth straight game and 13th on the year, with multiple three’s made in a game. She was 4-for-11 from outside the arc, 3-for-4 from the foul line, dished three assists and grabbed a season-high five rebounds as well.
• Freshman forward Tianna Hawkins put up 14 points in tonight’s game on her 7-for-12 shooting from the floor. She added seven boards, two blocks and a steal as well.
• Freshman forward Diandra Tchatchouang scored in double figures for the 15th time this year with her 12 points. She made 4-of-11 shots, grabbed a career-high nine boards, dished two assists and notched two blocks and a steal.
• Sophomore guard Anjale Barrett was the fifth Terps to score in double figures with her 12 points on the night. She was 4-for-8 from the field and added four rebounds and a season-high eight assists.
