Head Coach Brenda Frese

Opening Statement:
"I thought we really came out early with that knockout punch. We were ready to play. We had great energy and intensity. I thought our starting five did a tremendous job sharing the basketball. Obviously they [UMBC] wanted to pack it in the paint and we stepped up and were very unselfish moving the basketball and shooting the ball with confidence. It was great to be able to see the unselfish play tonight that I thought we played with."

On starting a taller lineup:
"With the depth that we have on this team, we feel like we can look at a lot of different rotations. I just felt like with the play of our bigs right now, we needed to find them more minutes."

On starting Tianna Hawkins:
"I think for us Tianna [Hawkins] has been one of our most consistent post players from the start of the season and it's a reward for how hard she's been working and it makes us a better team. As we're looking at different combinations and how we want to play, Tianna definitely showed that she is ready to play, which she is every night."

On the importance of three big wins heading into break:
"Very important. We are almost through our non-conference play here as we finish the month in terms of getting ready for ACC play. This is where you want to start kind of clicking on all cylinders, so to speak, and kind of start gaining some momentum."

On the play of her defense:
I thought we were really aggressive in the first half with great energy and intensity in terms of how we were able to use our length. To see so many shot clock violations, I thought we were able to give them some trouble obviously with our matchup."

Junior Guard Anjale Barrett

On playing in a big lineup:
"All our players bring a lot of energy, especially our bigs like Coach [Frese] said. Our bigs have been consistent, so having them on the court I know that they are going to bring that energy every play. When people sub in, we all feed off each other's energy, so it has been really fun."

On whether or not the team's play changes with such a big lineup:
"No, not at all because there are a lot of players that can create off the dribble and knock down open shots like they did today. It gives us a better chance to crash the boards and run the floor, so it doesn't alter anything."

Sophomore Forward Tianna Hawkins

On starting for the first time this season:
"It really didn't matter to me because it's whatever is best for the team, if it's me coming off the bench or it's me starting. I think that's not really my major concern."

On her game rolling after two straight great games:
"I think it is [rolling] because I think I have better confidence along with the team to help them out."
