Team Records and Series Notes

      Maryland improves to 17-8 overall and 4-6 in the ACC, while Wake Forest falls to 15-10 and 5-5 in the conference. The Terps lead the all time series over the Demon Deacons, 50-12.

•     Head coach Brenda Frese earned her 250th career win Thursday night. She is now 250-98 with a winning percentage of .718. After Thursday's game, she currently stands at 193-68 (.739) at Maryland.

•     Maryland will continue its ACC play Sunday afternoon when it takes on Clemson at Comcast Center at 2 p.m. It will be the Terps annual breast cancer awareness game.

 

Team Game Notes

•     Line-up: Dara Taylor, Tianna Hawkins, Kim Rodgers, Lori Bjork, Diandra Tchatchouang. This lineup is now 1-1 on the season.

•    Two Terps finished in double figures in Thursday’s game. Freshmen Diandra Tchatchouang and Jackie Nared both hit the double-digit mark for the Terps.

•     Maryland outrebounded Wake Forest, 45-41. The Terps are 17-5 when they hold the rebounding advantage. In Thursday’s game, the Terrapins matched their season-high team rebounding mark.

•     As a team, the Terps hit the most free throws in tonight’s game than they have in any other single game all year. They hit 21-of-29, including 17-of-23 in the second half and 14 consecutive in that stretch.  

 

 

Individual Game Notes

•     Freshman Diandra Tchatchouang led the Terps with 17 points on 8-fpr-16 shooting. She grabbed nine rebounds for the Terrapins, also a team high, She dished two assists, had two steals and also had four blocks. With those four, she moved up to third all time in the Maryland freshman record books.

•     Freshman Jackie Nared had 10 points in tonight’s game. She made 3-of-5 from the field, including a career-high three treys on perfect shooting from outside the arc. She grabbed seven rebounds and one takeaway. Tonight made the first time in her career she had two consecutive games with double-digit scoring.

•     Senior Lori Bjork, the ACC's three-point leader, had eight points on the night with 2-for-6 shooting, including 2-for-4 from outside the arc. She was 2-for-2 at the free throw line. She also grabbed four rebounds. She has now hit multiple three’s in 13 of the Terps’ last 14 games.

•     Sophomore Kim Rodgers had seven points, including a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. She is 19-for-19 from the charity stripe dating back to the Terps’ game against Minnesota on Dec. 3. She also grabbed five rebounds, and had an assist and a steal.

•   Sophomore Lynetta Kizer was also 4-for-4 from the free throw line. She finished with eight points total and grabbed five rebounds, as well as a block and an assist in just 13 minutes on the floor.
