Team Records and Series Notes
•With the win, Maryland improves to 22-6 while Virginia Tech drops to 11-17. Virginia Tech has now lost three straight games against conference opponents and 12 of 13 in the ACC.
•The Terps lead the Hokies 8-5 in the all-time series. Maryland's 61-48 win Thursday night was the team's sixth straight over Virginia Tech, dating back to Jan. 23, 2006.
•Coach Brenda Frese and the Terrapins will seek their ninth conference win in Boston on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. when they take on the Eagles Boston College (18-9, 5-7 ACC).

Team Game Notes
•Lineup: Alyssa Thomas, Tianna Hawkins, Diandra Tchatchouang, Anjale Barrett and Lynetta Kizer. This lineup is now 14-5 in 2010-11.
•Three Terps broke the 10-point mark Thursday: Alyssa Thomas (15), Laurin Mincy (12) and Lynetta Kizer (11).
Key Run: With the scored tied at 33 apiece, freshmen Alyssa Thomas and Laurin Mincy combined to score the game's next seven points to give the Terps the 40-33 lead with just 9:56 remaining.
Upset Denied: Though the Hokies battled to keep the score close, Maryland silenced Virginia Tech thanks to a 14-7 run over the game's final seven minutes.
Offensive Balance: Nine of Maryland's 10 players who saw action Thursday night scored at least two points with eight scoring three or more. The Terps also shared the ball well as they dished out 15 assists to Virginia Tech's 11.

Individual Game Notes
•Freshman Alyssa Thomas led the Terps with a team-high 15 points. The six-time ACC Freshman of the Week also recorded seven rebounds, a team-high six assists and three steals.
•Junior Lynetta Kizer earned her 27th career double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. The team captain also recorded a team-high three blocks.
Freshman Laurin Mincy set a new career mark by going 4 of 8 from the three-point line. All 12 of Mincy's points came via beyond the arc.
•With two more assists tonight, junior Anjale Barrett is now just six dimes shy of 300 on her career. The Bronx, N.Y., native recorded a career-best 11 assists in Maryland's upset win over then-No. 10 North Carolina on Jan. 23.
