Biography

As a Sophomore (2012): Started in 41 games primarily at first base after missing 15 games with a shoulder injury in early March and concussion-like symptoms after being hit in the head by a pitch vs. West Virginia (4/11) ... led the team with six home runs ... was second on the team with a .414 slugging percentage ... batted .241 with 19 RBI and 18 runs scored ... opened the year on a six-game hitting streak and hit safely in eight of his first nine games ... went 4-for-12 with two home runs and four RBIs in the UCLA series (2/17-19) ... went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs vs. Purdue (2/25) ... finished 5-for-13 with three RBI and two runs at the Keith LeClair Classic ... had two hits in both games of a doubleheader vs. Manhattan (3/3) ... went 2-for-4 in the second game of a doubleheader at Boston College (3/30) ... went 3-for-5 in his first game back from injury at Virginia Tech (4/27) ... went 2-for-5 with two doubles, a run and a RBI at Florida State (5/7) ... reached base safely in 16 straight games to close the season after going 2-for-11 with a walk in the Virginia series (5/17-19).

As a Freshman (2011): Played in 44 games with 34 starts and ranked third on the team in hitting (.279) ... was at his best in ACC games, leading the team and ranking sixth in the conference with a .352 batting average in league games ... that mark ranked third in the ACC among freshmen ... had a slow start to the season but raised his average 161 points (.118 to .279) from April 2nd to the end of the year ... hit .371 over the last 30 games of the season ... had multiple hits in 11 of his last 19 games ... his eight-game hitting streak from 4/24 to 5/8 was the second longest of the year by a Terp ... hit three home runs and had a team-best .404 slugging percentage ... picked up first hit, run and pair of RBI against Navy (2/23) ... had first multi-hit game of the season at Georgia Tech (3/13) after going 2-for-4 with one RBI ... hit first home run of the season, picking up season-high three RBI against Liberty (3/16) ... against FSU (4/2, 4/3) had back-to-back 1-for-4 efforts, driving in one run in each ... went 2-for-4 at Clemson (4/8) ... at Clemson (4/10) went 2-for-3 with one double and two runs scored ... picked up a three hits with two doubles and two runs scored against James Madison (4/13) ... went 2-for-3 with a double against Miami (4/17) ... went 2-for-4 against Virginia Tech (4/22) ... recorded his second three-hit game of the season, along with two RBI and two runs, at NC State (4/30) ... had two-hit efforts against NC State (5/1) and Towson (5/3) ... went 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI at North Carolina (5/7) ... recorded his fifth multi-hit effort in six games with a 2-for-4 performance at North Carolina (5/8), including a solo home run and two RBI ... went 4-for-5 with a double and a run, becoming the first Terp with a four-hit game since Gary Schneider on 5/4/10.

At Avon Old Farms: Helped lead the Winged Beavers to three Colonial League championships and a New England regional championship ... received academic honors in 2009 & 2010 ... led team in home runs, RBI and batting average as a junior and senior ... rated the No. 2 prospect in Connecticut by Perfect Game ... an All-American in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
