Maddy Sposito

Maddy Sposito joined the Maryland staff in early 2025 as the program's goalkeeping specialist and video analyst. Prior to Maryland, she spent nine seasons at Rutgers University, where she helped guide the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances (2018, 2021, 2023), a Big Ten Tournament title (2021), a No. 1 national ranking (2021), and a program-record 15-game win streak in 2023.

Named the Associate Head Coach of the 2025 U.S. Women’s Indoor National Team, Sposito brings over a decade of experience. She has served as a goalkeeper specialist for both the men's and women's junior national teams, coached at the Junior and Senior Nexus Championships, and worked as a video analyst for the junior and senior men's national teams, as well as the Indoor USWNT.

Internationally, Sposito spent a year as a video analyst at Royal Wellington THC in Belgium (2022), followed by a similar role at KHC Leuven, where she also served as a youth coach.

In 2019, she launched Happy Hockey Goalkeeping, a specialized training program designed to reimagine goalie development through camps and clinics. Beyond the college and national levels, Sposito has also coached at the high school and club levels, contributing to eight different programs.

A former collegiate goalkeeper at Fairfield University (2009–13), Sposito played for the Indoor U.S. Women's National Team from 2011 to 2015 and attended a senior national team trial in 2017. She currently holds USA Field Hockey Level 1 and 2 Coaching Certifications, as well as FIH Level I, II, and III certifications, with Level IV in progress.
