Meharg on Ellenberger
"After a full year and half off due to an ACL reconstruction and rehabilitation, Emily is looking to compete. She possesses solid positive energy and natural leadership skills. When she gets back physically, she will be a defensive asset to the backfield."

As a freshman in 2007
Did not see playing time in her first season, spending the season rehabbing an injured knee after suffering an ACL injury her senior year of high school.

Before Maryland
Started all four years at Quince Orchard H.S., playing in the midfield ... advanced to the state finals twice, winning the title in 2006 ... broke the school's single-season scoring record, tallying 26 goals and 12 assists ... twice selected the Gazette and Examiner Player of the Year, and also named All-Met Player of the Year by the Washington Post in 2006 ... first team all-state, first team all-Met and first team all-county twice in her career ... honorable mention all-Met as a sophomore ... participated in the Futures National Championship in 2006 and was a Futures Elite Selection in 2007 ... traveled to Europe and Barbados to play field hockey.
