Ryan Cotter joined the staff an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at The University of Maryland for the 2015-16 season. Cotter is directly responsible for the strength and conditioning programs for the men’s soccer, gymnastics, and men’s lacrosse teams.

Prior to coming to Maryland, Cotter was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Northern Arizona University. While at Northern Arizona, he worked primarily with men’s and women’s basketball, and women’s soccer, while assisting with football.

Before Northern Arizona, Cotter served as a Professional Intern at the University of Georgia.
Cotter received his MS in exercise physiology from the University of Utah and served as graduate assistant in the University’s PEAK Health and Fitness physiology lab, while also interning in the Olympic Sport's Weight Room. Cotter also holds a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Hope College.

Cotter is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, and a United States of America Weight lifting Level 1 Sport Performance Coach.
