Katey Hendershott

Katey Hendershott is in her first year with the Terps for the 2024 season.

Hendershott, a native of Ortonville, Michigan, oversaw the defense for Oakland softball. She helped Karn lead the Golden Grizzlies to back-to-back Horizon League regular season titles. Oakland softball won the conference tournament and made an appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2022. 


Before Oakland, Hendershott worked as a graduate assistant at Purdue Fort Wayne. Her primary responsibilities included coordinating the defense and assisting with hitting. Off the field, Hendershott scouted opponents and coordinated practice plans accordingly.

As a player, Hendershott was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection at Michigan State before graduating in 2020. She arrived in East Lansing for her sophomore season and remained there for the entirety of her collegiate career. Hendershott appeared in 41 games for the Spartans, starting 12.

She began her freshman year of college in 2015 as a dual-sport athlete at Lake Superior State University. Hendershott played both varsity softball and basketball for the Sea Ducks.
