Salyer On Gossett: "Anna's improvement has continued from a very good junior year, and she will be competing for significant playing minutes this season. Her leadership and improved skill set will be valuable commodities this year."
As a Junior (2007): Played in 18 games, including three starts... finished with 51 blocks and only 45 goals for team-best .531 block percentage... mark stands as second-best in a season for Terps... had season-best eight blocks in 8-2 win over Iona on Feb. 25 as Terps went unbeaten in Bucknell Invitational... also had four blocks that day in win over Villanova... also had four-block game in opener vs. Loyola Marymount.
As a Sophomore (2006): Started two of 14 games in goal... blocked 23 shots and allowed 36 goals scored against for a .390 block percentage.
At Washington & Jefferson (2005): Member of the swim and water polo teams.
Before Washington & Jefferson: Four-year letterwinner in water polo and swimming... elected team captain of both teams her senior year... named the All-Tournament Team Goalie at the Eastern Championships in 2003.
Personal: Parents are Kent and Diane Gossett... has a brother, Chris and a sister, Katie... co-president of the Operation Smile Organization at The Hill School... majoring in letters and sciences.
