Head coach Brenda Frese hired Sean Ehlbeck as the Director of Video and Scouting in the summer of 2018 after he spent two years overseeing the program's video.

Ehlbeck returned to Maryland after working the 2015-16 season at Rice, where he served as video coordinator for former Maryland associate head coach Tina Langley’s program.

“We’ve been able to watch Sean grow throughout his career,” Frese said. “He is a hard worker and he’s driven. He has worked in many capacities in our program and knows our system very well. He started as a practice player, an intern and now can do so many things. I love seeing our own people work their way up.”

Prior to working at Rice, he worked for the Terrapins for two seasons as the director of recruiting operations. He also had duties with video from his previous position as a player development and video intern. Prior to that role, he was a four-year practice player for the Terps.

Ehlbeck graduated from the R.H. Smith School of Business with a double major in Marketing and Supply Chain Management in May 2013. Ehlbeck is originally from Andover, Mass. where he played varsity basketball and football.
