Personal: Parents are Walter and Ruperta Charles…mother ran track at Howard from 1980-84 and was inducted into Howard’s Hall of Fame in 2014…mother also competed in the 1984 Olympic Games…has three older siblings – Darron, Afia and Akil…sister, Afia, ran track at UCF…brother, Akil, plays basketball at St. Francis in Nova Scotia…came to Maryland for the great atmosphere and the people…”The coaches and players are genuine and caring and they work hard”…wants to play professionally and then become a college coach…communication major.
