2008 CROSS COUNTRY - Was the second Terp to cross the line, 14th overall at the Mount St. Mary Duals covering 5K in 19:52.6... finished 20th at the Navy Invitational in the 6K with a time of 23:49.0... placed 88th at the ACC Championships in 23.28.8

2007 OUTDOOR TRACK - Finished 32nd in the 1,500 meters at the Maryland Invitational with a time of 5:11.92.

BEFORE MARYLAND - Lettered in track and field and cross country for all four years at Northport HS... posted a time of 7:20 in the 2,000-meter steeplechase before arriving at Maryland... was named first team all-county for cross country, steeplechase and 4x800 relay team... was also first team all-league for cross country and winter and spring track... her 4x800 relay team was ranked number one in the state of New York... placed 10th in the 2,000 steeplechase in June 2006 at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in North Carolina, winning her heat... high school coach was Eric Visconti... National Honor Society member.
PERSONAL - Daughter of Lorraine and Dennis Karagannis... expects to major in kinesiology... has one older brother... enjoys skimsuring, snowboarding, surfing and dancing... selected Maryland over Bucknell, Penn State, Iona and New Hampshire for its track team, track coaching staff and that the team is "on the rise."
