Spring 2012: Played in two spring events...carded a 267 at the ACC Championship at Sedgefield Country Club...due to illness only completed two rounds at the NCAA East Regional and fired a 166.
Fall 2011: Carded a 244 (79-86-79) in the season-opening Cougar Classic.
Spring 2011: Did not play.
Fall 2010: Competed in one tournament as an individual...finished tied for 54th at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate with a three-round 233.
Spring 2010: Did not compete.
Fall 2009: Competed in all five fall tournaments for Maryland...best performance came at the Spider Invitational with a 14-over par 158 and tied for No. 28...carded a low round 76 twice, first at the Duramed Cougar Classic and again at the Napa River Cardinal Cup...averaged a 78.64.
Spring 2009: Finished with a scoring average of 83.8 in four events...tied for 55th place at the Badger Invitational, shooting 26-over par (74-84-85)...shot 7-over par to finish in a tie for 10th place at the Spider Fall Invitational, shooting rounds of 75 and 76...tied for 54th place at the Palmetto Intercollegiate.
Fall 2008: Played in all five events and 14 rounds during her freshman semester at Maryland...finished with 80.0 scoring average...11 of her 14 rounds counted toward the team total...earned a top-10 finish with a T10th at the Spider Fall Invitational, where she went 75-76--151 to help Maryland win team title...best round of the fall was a 73, posted as Terps' best score in the opening round of the Badger Invitational at Wisconsin (73-84-85--242)...low 54-hole total was 239, carded in her first collegiate event at the Cougar Classic (77-81-81--239)...three of her 14 rounds were at 75 or better in the fall.
Before Maryland: Individual prep champ in two seasons of golf at the Oak Knoll School in Summit, N.J...only two seasons of golf...played on Group 1 state championship field hockey team for three seasons (junior and senior)...team also won the Mountain Valley Conference and Union County championships...also played one year of basketball...earned the Kelly E. Durkin Award at Oak Knoll...played in USGA U.S. Girls Junior Nationals...finished second in Conn. Section qualifier to earn berth...ranked fourth in state of New Jersey junior girls ratings by Golfweek...finished T-8th at the 2007 New Jersey State Girls Championship (79-82--161)...All-State selection as a junior by Newark Star-Ledger...captured the Rutgers Invitational prep tournament...played in IJGT events.
Personal: Parents are William and Karen Varnas...has no siblings...enjoys working out...chose Maryland over Georgetown and Lehigh.
