Narciso Valencia is entering his first year as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Maryland.  Valencia is directly responsible for the strength and conditioning programs of women’s Soccer and track and field. 

Prior to coming to Maryland, Valencia served as the Head Physical Preparation Coach for the D.C. United Youth Development Academy and assisted with the physical preparation of the D.C. United first team.

Prior to D.C. United, Valencia was a Strength and Conditioning Coaching Assistant at Webber International University, where he was directly responsible for the strength and conditioning programs of men’s soccer, men’s and women’s Tennis, and assisted with football. 

Prior to Webber International University, Valencia was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Athletes Equation in Rhode Island where he worked with high school and college athletes.

Valencia has also volunteered and interned at Brown University, Harvard University, the University of South Carolina, Limestone College, and Salve Regina University.

A native of Massachusetts, Valencia is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and is a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through United States Weightlifting.  He graduated with a Master of Science degree in Strength and Conditioning in 2012 from Bridgewater State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in 2007 from the University of Rhode Island.
