As a Freshman: occupied the No. 3 singles position to start the season before moving up to No. 2...picked up singles against Howard, UMBC and Towson... won her first two matches at No. 2 in contests with Richmond and VCU...played No. 2 and No. 3 doubles with Gabriela Srodowski...moved up to No. 1 doubles to team with Vroni Van Berlo against Richmond and teamed with the senior for the remainder of the season.
Before Maryland: Led San Marino High School to four league titles and two Southern California CIF High School Championships...at one point ranked the No. 1 junior in Southern California...a five star recruit and No 48 overall in the class of 2012 according to tennisrecruiting.net...played an exhibition with Andre Agassi when she was 7 years old...trained at the USTA Elite High Performance Training Center in Carson, CA since she was 9 years old...also ran track in high school.
Personal: daughter of Mike and Karen Gealer...father is a tennis coach...has one brother Daniel (15) who is also an accomplished tennis player...began playing tennis at age three...role model is Justine Henin...would have Emma Stone play her in a movie...came to Maryland because of "the great business school, beautiful campus, close proximity to Washington DC and the tennis team."
