Fran Bolletino joined the Maryland volleyball coaching season prior to the 2016 season. A 2014 graduate of Penn State, Bolletino has previously worked with head coach Steve Aird and assistant coach Adam Hughes.

Bolletino competed for Penn State's men's club team, earning a 2013 EIVA All Star Award and being named an honorable mention All-American. As a captain in 2014, he led the team to a fifth-place finish at NCVF Nationals.

While at Penn State, Bolletino also served as a practice player for the Division I women's volleyball team, working with then-Nittany Lion coaches Aird and Hughes. In his last season with Penn State, the team won the NCAA Championship.

Bolletino spent the last two seasons as the volunteer assistant at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Beginning in 2013, he was the head coach of the Quandomania Volleyball Club for three years.
Bolletino graduated from Penn State in May 2014 with a degree in criminology.
