As a Junior (2012-13): Served as the team's starter at 157 pounds for the majority of the season going 4-14 with a 3-9 dual record ... defeated Illinois' Matt Nora, 3-1, at the Northeast Duals ... knocked off Nebraska's Brandon Wilbourne at the Grapple at the Garden ... pinned Northwestern's Robert Coukos at the Midlands Championships.
As a Sophomore (2011-12): Went 10-11 at 149 pounds...finished fourth at the Central Jersey Open (11/20)...picked up three wins at the Shorty Hitchcock Open (1/15).
As a Redshirt Freshman (2010-11): Went 12-13 at 157 pounds...earned first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Rider's Frank Crocco at the East Stroudsburg Open...pinned Alex Dimaghani in 1:01 at the Wilkes Open.
As a Freshman (2009-10): Served a redshirt season ... split time at 149 and 157 pounds, finishing the year 8-12 ... went 4-8 at 149 pounds and 4-4 at 157.
Before Maryland: Lettered three years in wrestling for the Gaels...three-time state placer...2008 state champion...two-time National Prep All-American...team captain as junior and senior.
Personal: Son of Daniel and Linda Orem...has one brother, Shawn...favorite athlete is Devin Hester...made honor roll every quarter in high school...also recruited by Franklin & Marshall, Belmont Abbey and Duke.
