Chris Lacsamana was named Senior Associate Athletic Trainer for football at Maryland in June 2019. He currently oversees the daily operations for football athletic training, supervises the football staff athletic trainers, serves as the drug testing coordinator, and is the liaison for the B1G/Ivy League Concussion study.
Lacsamana previously served as Senior Associate Athletic Trainer for Aquatics at the University of Michigan from 2017 to 2019.
Prior to Michigan, he was the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at Jacksonville State University from 2014 to 2017 working with the football and softball teams, Director of Sports Medicine at Cleveland State University from 2010 to 2014 working with the women’s soccer and men’s basketball teams, and Head Athletic Trainer at Alabama State University from 2001 to 2010 working with the football, men’s basketball and softball teams.
Lacsamana is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Lacsamana holds a certification as a CSCS from the NSCA, full body certification from Active Release Technique, M1 and M2 Graston Technique, Dry Needling from Structure and Function, Muscle Energy Technique, Mulligan Concept- Lower Extremity, and Owens Recovery Science-BFR. He is also an American Red Cross instructor for First Aid/ AED/CPR, Professional Rescuer, Basic LIfe Support, and Emergency Medical Response.
Lacsamana graduated from Towson University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s of Science in athletic training before obtaining his Master’s of Arts in Education in exercise physiology from the University of Alabama-Birmingham in 2000.
He is a native of Baltimore, Md., and lives in Elkridge, Md., with his wife and son.
