Dave Muia was named Special Assistant to the Athletic Director in November 2017. He enters his seventh school year in 2024-25 working alongside Damon Evans.
Muia has nearly 50 years of experience working at the collegiate level. From 1975-2004, he served as the Executive Director, UGA Alumni Association; Director of Development; Field Rep, UGA Alumni Society at University of Georgia. He then became Associate Athletic Director for External Operations; Special Assistant to the Athletic Director; Executive Director of the Georgia Bulldog Club from 2004-11. Muia worked alongside Evans in those roles from July 2004 - July 2010 while he served as the athletic director at Georgia.
The assistant is also a professor in the University of Georgia Sports Management Program, a role he has had since September 2018.
Muia received his bachelor's degree in political science and government and master's degree in education from the University of Georgia.
