Jada Anderson

Jada DaMae Anderson

Jada DaMae Anderson joined the GSAC staff as an Assistant Learning Specialist in July 2023 and is excited to continue her time working with students at the University of Maryland!

Originally from Corona, California, Anderson graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2019 with a B.A. in Sociology and Education Studies. After having three major knee surgeries before age 19, she redirected her team player mindset and leadership skills from the soccer pitch to working in student mental health support in university residence life. She received her M.Ed in Higher Education, Student Affairs, and International Education Policy from the University of Maryland in May 2023.

Prior to joining the GSAC team at Maryland, Anderson worked as a Graduate Student Manager with the Women's Basketball Team and as a Graduate Advisor for the campus's programming board, Student Entertainment Events. Before making her move to the East Coast, she worked for UCLA Athletics as a marketing assistant, and in a live-on crisis response role with UCLA Residence Life. She is grateful for the time she has had counseling students in crisis, planning events, and supervising resident assistants. As a first generation college graduate and former athlete herself, she has an immense passion for serving the needs of first generation college student athletes.

When not at work, Jada loves to cook, go to WNBA games (go Mystics!), listen to podcasts, read at the public library, and travel any and everywhere in the DMV with her dog, Wookiee. Coming into her third year in Maryland, she is embracing being bicoastal. Jada is the daughter of an amazing single mother, businesswoman, and former fierce softball player, Jeana Anderson. Her family are lifelong sports fans and she is a supporter of Chelsea, Boca Juniors, and Angel City.
