COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland senior midfielder Emily Janss (Brandon, Fla.) was named to the Soccer America Women's Team of the Week for the second consecutive week after scoring the game-winning goal in Maryland's 1-0 upset of No. 11 Wake Forest last Friday night.
It was the third time this season and second consecutive week, which Janss was honored by Soccer America.
On Monday, Janss was named University of Maryland Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the second straight week.
In her senior season, Janss has six goals and three assists for 15 points, both second on the team. Overall, Janss has 15 career goals and 38 career points to rank 10th on Maryland's career lists in both categories.
The Terps have won five of their last six games and have even their record at 8-8-1 and stand in sole possession of third place in the ACC with a 3-2-1 record. Maryland is also ranked fifth in the most recent Mid-Atlantic Region poll of Oct. 25.
Maryland finishes its regular season on Sunday at Florida State before heading to Chapel Hill for the 1999 ACC Tournament which gets underway on Thursday, Nov. 4.
