COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski and Ashly Kennedy '07 have been inducted into the Maryland Soccer Hall of Fame.
Sasho Cirovski has built one of the most accomplished résumés in college soccer history, highlighted by three National Championships (2005, 2008, 2018), seven Big Ten Titles, and 10 ACC Championships. He holds the NCAA record with 31 NCAA Tournament appearances and, with 477 career victories, ranks as the winningest active Division I head coach.
Cirovski has turned Maryland into the preeminent producer of professional soccer talent among college teams in the United States. Terp alumni have participated in three consecutive FIFA World Cups, and 13 former players have earned caps with the U.S. Men's National Team. Under Cirovski's leadership, Maryland has produced 61 MLS SuperDraft selections and seven MLS Homegrown signings. Seven Terps have competed in the FIFA Men's World Cup, while five others have represented their countries in the Olympic Games.
Cirovski's success has also energized the fan base. Maryland led the nation in attendance in 2016, 2019, and 2025, averaging more than 4,000 fans per match and surpassing 50,000 total fans each of those seasons. His commitment to building a championship-caliber program that plays an exciting brand of soccer has helped establish Ludwig Field as one of the premier venues in college soccer.
Ashly Kennedy has given much of her life to the game of soccer within the state of Maryland. A standout defender at St. Mary's High School in Annapolis, MD, Kennedy was selected to the NSCAA/Adidas All-America Team in 2002 and was named the Baltimore Sun and Washington Post Player of the Year in 2002. In high school, Kennedy was named All-State all four years and was an All-South selection twice.
