COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Riding a season-high two-game winning streak, Maryland plays host to George Mason on Wednesday and travels to the Mountain time zone to play Texas and Colorado at the University of Colorado Invitational this week. The Terps won two crucial Atlantic Coast Conference games last week as they defeated Duke (3-1) and NC State (5-0) to even their record at 3-3-0. The back-to-back ACC victories marked the second time in two seasons and the second time in Alan Kirkup's three-year tenure that the Terps have won consecutive conference games during the regular season. Maryland's game against George Mason is a rematch of a 1997 NCAA Tournament first round game while the pair of games at the Colorado Invitational will mark the Terps' first ever trip to the state of Colorado.
SARVER, HARBO CONTINUE TO MOVE UP ACC CHARTS
Senior forwards Keri Sarver (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) and Emmy Harbo (Baton Rouge, La./The Runnels School) continued to move up the all-time Atlantic Coast Conference scoring charts with their performances against No. 9 Duke and NC State last week. Sarver is currently in ninth place with 121 total points and Harbo is in 11th place with 115 total points.

HARBO RECORDS EIGHTH CAREER MULTI-GOAL GAME
Senior forward Emmy Harbo recorded her eighth career multi-goal game as she scored two goals in Maryland's 3-1 victory over No. 9 Duke. Harbo's eight multi-goal games is the school record. Her season-high two-goal game against the Blue Devils marked the third time during her career that she has scored at least two goals in an ACC game and the second time that she has scored two goals in one game against Duke.
MYNARSKI NETS FIRST TWO GOALS OF '98 SEASON
Junior midfielder Jackie Mynarski (Somers, N.Y./Somers) scored her first two goals of the 1998 season as the Terps defeated No. 9 Duke and NC State. Against Duke, Mynarski rocketed a long shot past Blue Devil goalkeeper Dana Piper in the game's 80th minute. The goal marked the second of her career against Duke -- she scored Maryland's first goal of the game during the Terps' 2-1 victory in the 1997 ACC Tournament semifinals. She added her second goal of the season on an indirect free kick against NC State. She has now scored 10 career goals and has accounted for 25 total points. Mynarski is currently the Terps' third leading scorer.
SERRINS GAINS TWO VICTORIES OVER ACC OPPONENTS
Goalkeeper Riki-Ann Serrins (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita) allowed only one goal in 145 minutes played against No. 9 Duke and NC State last weekend. She held Duke scoreless for the first 77 minutes of the match before surrendering a goal. The Blue Devils entered the game averaging nearly two goals a game. She then played the first 55 minutes of the shutout victory over NC State. In three games this season, Serrins has allowed only three goals.

VARELA RETURNS HOME
Senior defender Laura Varela (Aurora, Colo./Overland) makes a triumphant return home as Maryland travels to play at the University of Colorado Invitational. Varela has played in all six games this season and has started 50 of the Terps' last 51 games. She has played on three NCAA Tournament teams during her career and has been credited with six career assists.
HARBO MOVES INTO TIE FOR SECOND
Senior Emmy Harbo recorded her 19th career assist to move into a tie for second place all-time in the Maryland record book. She has recorded five assists in six games this season. Senior Robin McCullough (Covington, Ga./Newton County) is currently in fourth with 17 career assists.

MULTIPLE ACC VICTORIES
Maryland's ACC victories over No. 9 Duke and NC State gives it two conference victories this season. It marks the fourth consecutive season (third under head coach Alan Kirkup) that the Terps have won multiple ACC games. Prior to the 1995 season, Maryland had won only one ACC regular season game in the history of the program.
LACERTOSA EARNING PLAYING TIME
Sophomore forward Tina Lacertosa (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquainas) has played in all six games this season. Her six games played matches her total participation from her inaugural season, 1997, when she played in a total of six games.
BACK-TO-BACK ACC VICTORIES
With its victories over No. 9 Duke and NC State, Maryland recorded back-to-back regular season ACC victories for the second time in head coach Alan Kirkup's tenure and for only the fourth time in program history. The Terps defeated Wake Forest and Florida State in back-to-back conference games last season.
GAME-WINNING GOALS
Senior forwards Keri Sarver and Emmy Harbo are the all-time school leaders in game-winning goals. Sarver, who scored the game winner against Southern California on Sept. 11 and Harbo, who scored the game winner against No. 9 Duke on Sept. 18, have scored 12 and 10 career game-winners respectively.
BIERNE GAINS FIRST CAREER POINT
Freshman forward Courtney Bierne (Westminster, Md./Westminster) was credited with her first career assist against NC State. Bierne has played in each of Maryland's first six games and was a starter in the first two games of the season.
MCKENNA WITH FIRST CAREER ASSIST
Sophomore Vita McKenna (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) was credited with her first career assist Sunday against NC State. McKenna, who has started all six games this season, now has one career goal and one career assist. She scored her first career goal against George Mason in her first career start during the 1997 season.

Sarver's three goals matched the school record for goals in a game and tied her career high. It marked her third hat trick of her career. Sarver's two goals give her 46 for her career and 121 total points. The 121 total points moved her into ninth place all-time in the Atlantic Coast Conference. She passed Kelly Walbert of Duke (1992-95) who had 117 total points. Her 46 goals ranks 10th all-time in the ACC.
