1998 ACC TOURNAMENT: At this year's ACC Tournament Clemson captured the conference crown for the second consecutive year with a tournament record score of 28-under par. The Terps placed ninth with their second best score of the season, a 11-over par score of 875 and their best score at an ACC Tournament since 1992 when they shot a seven-over par score of 871. Maryland's previous best score this season was at the Pepsi Intercollegiate Classic on March 19 - 22 where the Terps finished first overall with a three-under par score of 861. INDIVIDUALLY AT THE ACC TOURNAMENT: Leading the way for the Terps at the ACC Tournament was junior Miguel Rivera (Joppa, Md.) who finished in a tie for 11th place with a four-under par score of 212. Rivera bettered par in each of the three rounds, registering a 71, 70 and 71. After the first two rounds, Rivera was in a tie for 13th place, but his one-under par score of 71 on the final day of the tournament moved him up into the 11th spot. Also contibuting for the Terps was sophomore Keith Unikel (Potomac, Md.). Unikel finished in a tie for 27th place with a three-over par score of 219. This included scores of 78, 69 and 72 in each of the three rounds. The final Maryland individual results are listed below:
