SYRACUSE

Head Coach John Desko: "I am very happy with the way we played. Our guys showed a lot of heart in the second half. I am very happy with the play of our second midfield line. Burns and Cordisco have done a terrific job down the stretch this season. Congratulations to this team and especially to the seniors. We'll be there on Monday."

"Georgetown plays a good, solid one-on-one defense. We knew we had to step it up in the third quarter. At halftime we knew we were going to have to go up top and shoot a little differently."

Jeff Lowe: "Both my goals came off of good saves. I had the space and I took advantage of it. Scoring those goals in front of the big crowds meant a lot to me, but my only goal this season has been to help the team win the national championship."

Chris Cordisco: "Syracuse has a tradition in May. After our loss to Georgetown (in the regular season), we basically got the seniors together and said to forget about the regular season. We've remained focused and confident and have pulled together since then."

"We are excited about playing on Monday. We've lost the last two years on Saturday (in the semifinals) and it means an extra lot to the seniors to get the chance to play for the title on Monday."

GEORGETOWN

Goalie Brian Hole on Syracuse's 6-0 run in the third quarter: "I was just trying to concentrate on getting the next (shot). When it goes in, that's not great, especially when Syracuse likes to run. They like to get their goals in bunches, and it's tough on the guys playing defense with the long sticks because a lot of their opportunities were coming from up top."

On being in the Final Four: "I think being here can't be bad for Georgetown. I think we deserve the respect that we're finally getting, and we've deserved it for a few years. ... As far as the program's concerned, I think today is a great day. People got to see Georgetown play and I think we played well. It just didn't go our way."

Head Coach Dave Urick on third quarter: "If I had to do it over again, maybe I would have called timeout a little earlier in the third quarter. I thought about it. I thought we could hold it together and make a run. And I think we had possession a few times to do that, but whatever look we got, it didn't happen. I think, as much as anything, their zone was a lot more effective than I thought it might be, and that seemed to confuse us at times."

On team's defensive effort: "We put our kids out on an island sometimes defensively and if we break down, then that's going to happen. ... That's tough on your goalie. He's seeing some shots that are pretty high-percentage shots, and that's what happened there. At times it appeared like we weren't playing great team defense. I'm not sure that was the case all the time. I think it's the way we approached them as much as anything else."
