COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Maryland has announced the hiring of Kerry Dziczkaniec as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. Dziczkaniec joins the athletic department after serving as the assistant women's soccer coach at Florida State for three seasons where she served as the recruiting coordinator as well as the goalkeeper coach.
Prior to joining the Florida State staff, Dziczkaniec served for two seasons as an assistant coach on the Virginia women's soccer staff under former Cavalier head coach Lauren Gregg, who now serves with the United States national team. While at Virginia, the Cavaliers posted two top-10 finishes, and their goalkeepers were among the highest-rated in the ACC.
A 1993 graduate of George Washington, she earned a degree in exercise and sport science. While attending George Washington, Dziczkaniec was a goalkeeper on the Colonials' women's soccer team. She earned team MVP honors in 1991, while being named team captain for two seasons (1991-92).
Dzickaniec was a member of the Virginia and Maryland Olympic Development Program coaching staffs from 1992-95. She holds a United States Soccer Federation "C" coaching license.
Among her accomplishments were playing with the 1996 Women's Amateur Division National Championship team, the Virginia-based Soccer Academy United who beat J.B. Marine of St. Louis, 6-0. She was also a starter on the championship squad with the Maryland Pride as they the USISL "W" league 1996 National Championship and was selected to the all-tournament team at nationals.
