Maryland's Sarver Named ACC Player of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Keri Sarver, an All-America honorable mention and All-ACC first-team selection in the sport of women's soccer, has been named as the Female Athlete of the Year by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Maryland. The award is presented to the female student-athlete that demonstrates the embodiment of outstanding academic and athletic achievement, as well as campus and community leadership.

Sarver (Massillon, Ohio) ended her career this past fall as one of the top players in the history of the Terps' program. She is the all-time program leader in eight different offensive categories including career goals (61), career assists (33) and career total points (155). In addition, she established school records for total points in a single season (49) and tied the single season school record for goals in a season (21) during the 1998 season.

The computer science major was also named as an ACC Scholar Athlete awarded a James Weaver/Eugene Corrigan Post Graduate Scholarship in the amount of $5,000.
