COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Junior Chrissie Terrill (Plano, Tex.) completed a perfect performance in the three-day Maryland Invitational by winning both the B flight singles and A doubles championships on the Cole Field House Tennis Courts. William & Mary junior Carlijn Buis won the A flight title with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over teammate Jessyca Arthur.
In other brackets, Kelli Partlow of William & Mary won the C flight singles title and American University's Michelle Sabsels was first in the D flight.
Terrill, who is known for her solid starts after winning her first eight duals of the 1999 spring season, defeated William & Mary freshman Nina Kamp, 0-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the final match. In doubles, she teamed with junior Stacy Walkowitz (Coral Springs, Fla.) to outlast William & Mary's Lindsay Sullivan and Andrea Coulter, 8-5. Last year, Terrill was forced to withdraw from two matches in the tournament due to injury.
In the B division for doubles, the Terps were once again victorious as transfer Catherine Valantin (Metz, France) and freshman Bridget Brunner (Richmond, Va.), gained an 8-6 win over Kamp and senior Elizabeth O.
The tournament also included teams from Syracuse, Marshall, West Virginia, George Mason and George Washington.
