Notes
Gary Williams, Maryland
"I thought we played with good intensity for the most part today. We didn't put the ball in the basket when we had our opportunities. I thought we got the ball where we needed to get it, players had their shots and when you look at the shooting percentage for us, you can tell we didn't shoot well."
On the Terps' defense:
"I thought our defense was good enough. We didn't give up too many easy three-point looks. We made them work for most of their shots, which is what you have to do against Duke. I was pleased with that."
"Why we didn't shoot the ball well, I don't know. We've got some time to work on some things and we will get better offensively. We missed free throws--does that mean we are a bad free throw shooting team? Well, just today. We're shooting 68 or 69 percent coming into the game."
On Chris Carrawell:
Chris Carrawell has really upgraded his game. He's become a really good perimeter player to go along with his strength inside. He's worked hard to get there."
Mike Krzyzewski, Duke
"We are ecstatic about winning up here. It was a crazy game. We hadn't rebounded well on the defensive ended previously, but our initial defense tonight was outstanding and we were able to build an early lead. [Chris] Carrawell was fabulous. I don't know how many things I asked him to do today, but he did all of them."
"I think Maryland is a really good team and I thought Blake played a very good game for them and it is obvious that Terence Morris is a very good player. We feel really good about beating a good basketball team on their home court."
"We've had a very tough schedule, to take two tough games on the road in one week has really helped our confidence. We played tough games early in the season and I don't think we would have won today without a tough schedule early on."
