ELON COLLEGE, N.C. - Jason Mohap went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a RBI and Craig Munroe drove home a pair of runs, leading Maryland (1-4) to a 6-5 win over Elon (4-3) in baseball action today at Newsome Field. The game, which was only seven innings, was the nightcap of a doubleheader. In the earlier game, Elon held off a Terp rally to win 6-4.

Martin held Elon scoreless through three innings, but the Fighting Christians rallied in the bottom of the fourth inning with three runs. Jason Tuttle's two-out, two-run single was the key hit.
Brian Barton pushed the Terps' lead to 5-3 with a RBI single in the top of the fifth inning. Daryl Whitmer extended the lead to 6-3 when he singled home Jason Mohap in the top of the seventh inning.
Elon closed the gap to 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Maryland closer Brad Lyons was able to retire the final two batters of the game for his first career save.
