BOISE, Idaho - Sophomore Laura Moon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) closed out the season for the Maryland women's gymnastics team as she finished 14th in the second session and 23rd overall in the preliminary round of the NCAA Championships at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho last night. Moon competed well in each event, not earning less than a 9.700 in any event and finished with a 38.950 in the all-around. Despite her solid performances, Moon did not score high enough to advance to the final competition.
This year marked Moon's second consecutive trip to nationals. In her second season at Maryland she continued to be one of Maryland's strongest all-around competitors. Prior to regional competition, Moon was ranked 19th nationally in the all-around. Of the 12 individual all-around competitors who were competing without their team, Moon was ranked No. 10.
