PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers University gymnastics team (10-6, 2-4 EAGL) finished second in its home quad-meet this evening, defeating SUNY-Cortland (182.425) and Ursinus College (183.225), but falling to No. 22 Maryland (192.500) with a combined score of 190.450.

The beam competition went to Maryland's Sarah Hoenig, who took first place with a 9.800, followed closely by Scarlet Knight senior Gina Guharoy (Marlton, NJ) and Leah Brill and Cote for the Terrapins in second place with a 9.750. Redshirt freshman Lisa Abrams (Mt. Ephraim, NJ) scored a personal best on the beam with a fifth-place score of 9.700, tied with Danin Squires of SUNY-Cortland.

Maryland took top honors on the floor, led by Alyssa Mealey in first, scoring a 9.850. Brill and Lisa Mealey rounded out the top three, scoring a 9.825 and a 9.800, respectively. Turner took fourth on the floor with a 9.775, followed by Hart's score of 9.750, tying her with Hoenig for fifth place.

In the all-around, Lisa Mealey grabbed the composite crown with an overall score of 38.550, followed by Cote with a score of 38.525. Hart, the lone all-arounder for Rutgers, scored a 38.275.

The Scarlet Knights return to action on Saturday, March 2, when they travel to Cornell for a 1 p.m. meet. Rutgers returns home for the final home meet of the season on Friday, March 8, to host the Minutewomen of the University of Massachusetts at 7 p.m.
