Maryland Tennis Dominates Georgetown, 7-0

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Maryland women's tennis team swept Georgetown by the score of 7-0 to improve its season record to 2-0. The teams competed at the Tennis Center at College Park, the Terps' new home.
All six Terrapins won their singles matches in straight sets. Leading Maryland at the No. 1 singles position was junior Delila Causevic (Silver Spring, Md.), who defeated Georgetown's Lydia Bartell, 6-2, 6-2. Both Emily Marker (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Marta Jedrzejak (Sieradz, Poland) won by the score of 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 2 and No. 4 positions, respectively. Senior Pamela Floro (Manila, Philippines) defeated Liora Gelblum 6-0, 6-2 and freshman Emily DeCamilla (Sacramento, Calif.) recorded a 6-2, 6-2 win over Hoya senior Caroline Marshall. Chloe Chavardes (St. Nomlabreteche, France) defeated opponent Lara Madonia, 6-1, 6-3, an easier win for the sophomore, whose battle yesterday against West Virginia's Emma Jeremiejczk, stretched to three sets, including a tiebreaker.
On the doubles end, the team of Causevic/Marker defeated Marshall/Chelsea Kammerer, 8-0. The team of Chavardes/Floro handed Georgetown's Bartell/Snow an 8-3 loss. No. 3 doubles team of Jedrzejak/DeCamilla finished off Botjer/Sutton in 30 minutes, by the score of 8-0.
Maryland gets ready to take on Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Tennis Center at College Park.
