
Delila Causevic's 2002 Season Run Ends At NCAAs

Palo Alto, CA - Maryland junior Delila Causevic (Sarajevo, Bosnia) lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Fresno State's Kim Niggemeyer. The match ended in three sets with Niggemeyer coming on top with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory.
Causevic ended the 2002 season ranked No. 46 nationally, finishing a 24-9 record. She represented Maryland at the No. 1 singles spot in both singles and doubles competition. The 2002 NCAA appearance was Causevic's first in her three-year career at Maryland.
This was the first time Maryland was represented in the NCAA tournament since 1999, when the duo of Lorraine Bittles and Meg Griffin played in doubles competition.
