ACC Women's Swimming And Diving 50th Anniversary Team Announced

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary women's swimming and diving team was announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. The 52-member team was voted on by the eight league institutions that sponsor the sport as decided by the league's 50th Anniversary Committee.
Courtenay Carr represents the Terps on the 50th Anniversary team. A diver for Maryland from 1985 to 1988, Carr won three individual ACC Championships on the board. She was the ACC champion of the one-meter board in 1986 and 1987, and in 1988 won the three-meter board. Carr was named the ACC's most valuable diver in 1986 and 1988 and was a three-time All-ACC selection.
North Carolina led all schools with 22 members on the Golden Anniversary team while Virginia was second with 11 honorees. Clemson had eight individuals selected, followed by NC State with seven, Florida State with two and Maryland and Duke with one apiece.
