FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -
Three Terrapin golfers finished among the top 15 individuals to lead University of Maryland to a third-place finish at The McLaughlin here this weekend.
The Terps, who now have recorded third-place finishes in two of their three fall tournament to date, carded a 36-hole score of 284-288-572. The tournament, played on the Red Course at Bethpage State Park, was shortened by 18 holes due to inclement weather conditions.
Tournament host St. John's University captured the team title over 17 other competitors, posting a 36-hold score of 566. Princeton (568) was second. McNeese State (574) and James Madison (581) rounded out the top five.
Maryland's senior co-captain John Moheyer led the way for the Terps, shooting an even par 140 to place in a tie for fifth individually. He was followed in the top 15 by teammates Tim Kane (8th, 142) and Dan MacDonald (15th, 144). Other Terp scorers were Jeff Spradlin (T-28th, 147) and Bobby MacWhinnie (T-56th, 152).
