CHARLOTTESVILLE -- It is 9:57 p.m., and we are on our way to Cav Country. We just finished watching the movie "Phone Booth" and let me tell you something, I am getting caller I.D. on all my phones.
I just got yelled at by Simone Dekker for putting my overhead light on, so if this journal is short, its' because I'm scared of her....
Mallory Mahar is laying down across the aisle reciting lines from Mrs. Doubtfire. It's pretty entertaining! We have nothing better to do than to recite lines from our favorite movies because the dark ride to UVa is not very exciting. It's about 80 miles on Route 29 with random McDonald's, Amoco's and Sheetz along the way. Trees are surrounding each side of the road, so I kind of feel like I should be in a scary movie.
Let me tell you about the earlier festivities from our trip to Virginia. We stooped at the Macaroni Grill in Manassas, Va., to get dinner. We arrived a little after 6 p.m., and left at 8:37 p.m., to be exact. While we were waiting for our food to come out, the opposite end of the table started to have a contest to see who could draw the best haunted house - in celebration of Halloween.
Of course, Audra Poulin won because she drew herself walking up to the Haunted House with a puddle below her. (Check the pictures in the photo gallery.) Mariel Wilner came in second with Jen Biscoe and Lindsay Niehaus close behind in third. Anna Sheveland followed and Lindsay Givens was dead last.
After that, we received our scrumptious meals and we were quiet from that point on. Our desserts of cheesecake, canolis and chocolate cake were wonderful as well and we headed out to finish our journey.
Well, this journal is a little longer than I expected because Simone went to bed so I could keep the bus light on longer. Wait. Now she up playing the ringtones on her new cell phone, she's a trip.
The clock now reads 10:19 and Audra Poulin just said, "less than two hours until the Clay Aiken CD comes out!" So on that note, we are ready to pull into the Doubletree Hotel, where we are staying.
Game time is 7 p.m. from Klockner Stadium, Tuesday night, so cheer on the Terps!
Good night and Go Terps, this is Danielle Malagari signing off from C'Ville, Virginia.
