The University of Maryland football team embarks upon its first open week of 2003 and begins preparation for its nationally televised matchup at Georgia Tech on Thursday, October 23. The Terrapins hit the bye week having won five straight games while the Yellow Jackets also have an open week and have run off three consecutive wins of their own.
