College Park, Md. -
The Maryland vs. Wake Forest men's basketball game will be broadcast live on Terrapin Sports Network Flagship Stations WBAL (AM-1090 in Baltimore) and WMAL (AM-630 in Washington), and select affiliates. "Voice of the Terps" Johnny Holliday and color analyst Chris Knoche call the action. An additional Internet broadcast will be available at www.yahoo.com and on the Maryland student radio station, WMUCsports.com.
The game, which was originally scheduled to be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net on Sunday night, will not be televised. Fox Sports Net made every attempt to televise today's re-scheduled game even though it wasn't scheduled to televise on Monday. Time did not allow for Fox to put together a crew to staff the game once the decision to play was made.
The decision to reschedule the game at 5 p.m. was made by the ACC at 12:00 noon on Monday to follow the league policy set forth in 1996, which states that "the only reason a game should be postponed is for travel conditions that affect the safety of the involved teams. Inconvenient travel, which alters normal pre-game routines, or poor attendance is not an acceptable reason to postpone a game. If both teams and officials can get to the site, the game should be played."
