Head coach Brenda Frese
On Maryland's effort:
"I was proud of the way we played in the second half. I thought we finally came out and played with some intensity and some pride after going into the locker room down by 14. Again, you have to be able to step out and I'm disappointed in the way we came out and played. I thought we played with no level of enthusiasm or intensity in the first half."
On senior guard Renneika Razor's performance and injury status:
"She played a tremendous game. It's too bad she didn't get to finish the game, it was taken away from her. ...They think she has a concussion so she'll be day-to-day based on that."
On Maryland's depth:
"When you look at the bench points, Virginia 54, us 24, you need to be able to get more productivity off of your bench. ...Chrissy with 15 of those points, where are the other points coming from? Everyone needs to be ready to step up when they're called upon."
"We don't have nearly the depth that Virginia has, which is evident by their bench points. We don't have that luxury and when you have two players who are fouled out at the end of the game and your best player goes down at the end and isn't able to return, your hands are tied with your rotation of who you're going to sub in."
Junior guard Vicki Brick
On Razor's performance:
"Renneika played unbelievable. When she makes up her mind to get to the basket there's no one out there that can stop her. She was putting us on her back at times and making plays out there, making stuff happen. She's constantly putting pressure on the defense and it sets the tone for the rest of the team out there.
Freshman forward Chrissy Fisher
On Maryland's rebounding:
"I think we did a pretty good job. I don't remember them getting too many offensive boards. I think that was one of the things that we tried to do was stop them from getting too many offensive rebounds and getting any second looks. That's been one of our main focuses throughout the season."
