COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Terrapins (4-4) will have to wait until mid-March to dig their cleats into their home field. The Terrapins' first home tilt of the season has been cancelled due to record snowfall that blanketed the field and most of the east coast last weekend. Field conditions have been deemed unplayable by officials. The three-team tournament, which included Maryland, Towson, and Fairfield, was supposed to begin Saturday and last until Sunday afternoon. The weekend's games would have been the first-ever tournament contests played at the Terrapin Softball Complex.
Maryland was last in action this past weekend at the USF-Best Western Tournament. The Terps finished up the weekend with a 2-2 record, earning wins against Indiana and Radford and falling to Seton Hall and No. 24 South Florida. The Terrapins are next scheduled to grace the diamond on Saturday, March 6 when they take on Florida Atlantic at 10:00 a.m. and Illinois-Chicago at 2:00 p.m. at the Speedline Invitational in Plant City, Fla.
