
Eades Moves Into Top 20 At LSU Spring Invitational

Freshman John Eades shot an even-par round to move into the top 20 and the University of Maryland improved five strokes over its opening round at the LSU Spring Invitational here Saturday.
The Terps remain in 18th place, although they are just seven shots out of 11th and 11 shots out of 10th place.
Eades, from Charlotte, N.C., carded a 72 on the 7,200-yard University Course layout located about seven miles from the LSU campus. Following an opening-round 74, Eades finds himself tied for 20th place among individuals and is just three shots from the top 10.
Also shooting an even-par round of 72 on Saturday was senior co-captain John Moheyer, who is in a tie for 24th place with a 36-hole total of 147. Other Terp scores include freshman Jeff Spradlin (74-78-152, tie for 65th), junior Tim Kane (80-76-156, tie for 84th) and Bobby MacWhinnie (83-90-173, 95th).
South Alabama's Ryan Gildersleeve, the first-day leader after firing a four-under 68, held on to first place by carding a 71 on Saturday. He holds a one shot lead over LSU's John Humphries and College of Charleston's Bruce McDonald.
LSU, Jacksonville State and South Alabama share the team lead after 36 holes with two-round totals of 578.
