Terps Take Final Game Of Speedline From Chattanooga, 7-0

PLANT CITY, Fla. - The Terps (6-7) concluded play at the Speedline Invitational Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Tennessee-Chattanooga. Hurler Jessica Aditays (Shrewsbury, Mass.) two-hit the Mocs for her first complete game shutout of the season.

Samantha Sweeney (Marlton, N.J.) had her best offensive game of 2003, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored in the leadoff spot. The Terrapins' big inning came in the sixth. Already holding a 3-0 lead with two outs in the inning, Maryland added three insurance runs. Right fielder Crystal Tweedy (Dumfries, Va.) capitalized on an error by the pitcher. Sweeney and freshman left fielder Natalie Grossman (Skillman, N.J.) hit back-to-back singles, scoring Tweedy. Malissa Moczulski (Burlington, N.J.) followed with a single that drove in Grossman and Tweedy. Both Grossman and Moczulski had multiple-hit games for the Terps.

Maryland concludes the 2003 Speedline Invitational with a 2-3 record. The Terps are 11-16 all-time at this tournament, which they have been competing in since 1999.
