Final Gary Williams TV Show Airs Friday And Saturday On Comcast SportsNet

April 11, 2003

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland basketball fans can catch the final episode of the Gary Williams TV Show this weekend on Comcast SportsNet. The show was taped live at the Greene Turtle Restaurant in Laurel, Md., and features the Terrapins' head coach, longtime "Voice of the Terps" Johnny Holliday, as well as a special guest in Maryland's Governor, Bob Ehrlich. The trio discusses the Terrapins' season, college basketball, and a variety of other topics as they wrap up 2002-03 with the show's final episode before a live audience.

The season-ending Gary Williams TV Show will air on Friday, April 11, at 11:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet, and will replay on Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m.

Despite losing four starters from the 2002 NCAA championship squad to the professional ranks, Williams led the Terrapins to 21-10 record that included a second place finish in the Atlantic Coast Conference, a Top 10 final ranking, a 10th consecutive NCAA tournament berth, and a third straight trip to the Sweet 16. The 2002-03 campaign extended Maryland's active school record for 20-win seasons to seven, marked a school record sixth straight season of a third or better finish in the ACC, and saw a fourth Top 10 national finish in the last five seasons.

Maryland's Sweet 16 appearance was its 13th overall, fifth in the last six seasons, and seventh over the Terps' run of 10 straight NCAA Tournament appearances since 1994.
