TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Sophomore third baseman Crystal Rizzuto (San Leandro, Calif.) was named to the 2003 ACC Softball Championship All-Tournament team. Rizzuto was the only University of Maryland player named to the eleven-player squad.
Rizzuto's key moment in the tournament came in Maryland's victory over North Carolina Saturday. With one out and North Carolina leading 5-0 in the second inning, Rizzuto smacked a double to left center to drive in two runs and spur on a six-run Terrapin rally in that inning.
Overall, Rizzuto batted .571 (4-for-7). As of Saturday, Rizzuto was tied for the tournament lead in RBI with four. She had one double, three walks, a .714 slugging percentage, and a .700 on-base percentage.
